024.14 This road, which extended from the Camp at Carsmuir, in the parish of Falkirk, nearly in a straight line to Stirling Castle, via, Torwood in St. Ninians, is barely perceptible at present, and, in a few years will have become entirely defaced. It crossed the Carron Water by a bridge.

024.14 In the year 1773 when the Carron Company was deepening the bed of the River, the workmen came upon the Piers of this bridge which was of stone, fastened with Roman Cement. There is not a vestige of the bridge at present but its Site is well known.
