035.01 ; 035.02 ; 035.03 A small unimportant river which lies in the parish of Cumbernauld, and after a long and sinuous course empties itself into the Firth of Forth. during the whole of its course through this parish it forms the boundary between it and the parish of Slamanan, owing to the extreme flatness of the land through which it runs it inundates a considerable portion of it on either side during the winter Season, there is consequently little arable land along its banks, nearly all being kept as pasture.
