028.09 A private house let in tenements and having room on the ground floor capable of containing a congregation or number of people to the amount of 100. This room is during the week-days occupied by an adventure school, & on Sundays by a small congregation of Weslyan Methodists who have held it by the year for as many as twenty years for worshipping in. The house is always referred to as the "W. M. [Wesleyan Methodist] Chapel" although the room is but let from year to year by the Pr. [Proprietor]. There is not a minister placed in Lennoxtown for this chapel or place of worship, nor is there a minister to many of the Chapels belonging to this sect, in country places - such as at Kilsyth. The clergymen officiate in the country by turn. It may be mentioned here that the methodists had a place of worship similar to this in Kirkintilloch for 40 years before a Chapel of their own was erected. There is upon the authorities quoted, every likelyhood of this room being used for a place of Worship as long a time as it has been at present. The adventure school has been kept by different Teachers for about five years.
