028.06 A Burn which comes from the top of the range of Fells which run from the west to the top of "Brown Hill". It takes its name from the reddish broken ground on the hillside which the stream flows through. It applies as far down the hill as Spouthead Farm house below which it joins the Burn which is called the "Forking Burn" as it passes over the side of the hill. "Red Cleugh Burn" is well known.
