end of the steep bank in "Craigend Muir" (Plan 11), which forms the northern extent. Considerable attention has been given to the application of this name, and it is only by viewing it from different places both far and near that the proper position can be fixed. At first it appears as if the name properly belonged only to the steep brae in front of "Lennox Castle", by persons on the north of it, along the T.P. [Turn Pike] Road to Strathblane (Plan 7 & 8. 27) speaking of it as the "South Brae". But inquiry shews the name to belong to the whole of the rising ground south of the Castle, which by the people generally, is understood to belong to the object described.
