The Proprietor has therefore, in order to retain both names, adopted "Kirkton House" to the modern part of the mansion, & "Ballencleroch" to the old part, which is occupied along with the other as one house. Ballencleroch or Ballincleroch in Gaelic signifies, as stated by the Pr. [Proprietor], Kirkton in English. |
