on the west side of the "Brash Burn", in the west, to the farm of East Baldorran in the east. The southern extent is as far as those houses south of "Frenchmill" farm. Milton is the form in which this name is now generally written, and the contraction is so established by custom that the best authorities use it. "Craighead" is a name which forms the greater part of the village on the north side of the River, but Milton comprehends the whole of the houses on both sides of the River.
