022 A river which rises in the Parish of Fintry and flows eastwards to the River Forth, taking its name from the celebrated Iron Work of Carron which it flows past in the Parish of Falkirk. It is generally understood to bear the name "Carron Water" from the point where it forms the Boundary of this Parish, but before it reaches the point described, while in Fintry Parish it bears the name "Clachie Burn" or "Clauchie Burn". "Waterhead Burn" flows into it at the point where the name changes from Clauchie or Clachie to Carron.
