028.10 A well known name which applies from the junction of the "Spouthead" and "Burniebrae Burn", with the Burn which flows at the bottom, or through it, to the extent of wood & slopes shewn on Traces, and which extends to the margin line of this Trace. From the point of junction of the Burns ("Spouthead" & "Burniebrae") to the last margin line of Trace 4, the natural sloping to the Burn is too gradual for representation as a slope. The Burn is known farther down as the "Waltree Burn", but that name may be said to apply from "Cowies Glen" to its junction with the Glazert. In hilly districts like this a Glen name often applies to that part of a Burn where the Glen is, and sometimes as at "Samson's Glen", the same name applies to both Burn & Glen.
