013.02 This applies to a tuft or knowe in the "Sallochy Wood" having steep regular Craigs on the side adjoining the Loch. "Carraig" signifies a rock &, upon the authority of the Revd. Dr. [Reverend Doctor] McFarlane, sometimes a rock surrounded by coppice wood each of which is descriptive. The name is well known in the Parish, as also "Little Carraig".
