OS1/31/15/109 The Koni The Koni J.R. McQueen Esq Burravoe David Robertson, Burravoe Robert Sandison, Burravoe 022.15 This name applies to a little rocky knoll on the west side of which there are appearances of a few stones having been quarried. There is a tradition in the neighbourhood regarding this place 'and one which is firmly believed in' that in the Year 1795. the tenant who then lived on this ground repaired to this rock to have some stones quarried for the purpose of building or enlarging his premises. On the night of the first days work he dreamed that he must not go back or take any more stones from the quarry, he paid no attention to the dream further than informing three other men that were assisting him and overplease.

OS1/31/15/110 Continued resumed work the second day when he had a similar dream to that of the first but treated it in the same manner as first. on the third morning when the four men had commenced work, a human hand, and arm, up to the elbow, progected itself from the spot where they were about, or had commenced operations. the hand was visible to the four men, and they all agreed that it was the hand of a female. They suspended operations at once, and the place was for some considerable time much dreaded in the neighbourhood. One of the parties in this affair lived to a good old age, and it is said maintained throughout his lifetime that it was perfectly true. On the property of J. R. McQueen Esqr Burravoe.
