047.16 | This object was found about four yards E. [East] from the eastern wall of the outhouse at the Manse of Sandsting, and opposite the S. W. [South West] corner of the garden wall. The late Revd. [Reverend] Mr. Brydon refers to this, and another urn found at a point nearly half a mile farther N. [North] in page 112 of the "New Statistical Account of Scotland", as follows;- "I have discovered two other urns on the glebe, filled with a black unctuous earth, but so much decayed, that no part of them could be lifted" |
