YETHOLM (PARISH) | Yetholm (Parish) | Continued | [Continued from page 1] the Parish of Kirknewton in the County of Northumberland; on the NW [North West] by Linton Parish; and on the West & S [South] West by Morebattle parish, the two latter being within Roxburghshire - The extent of the parish is two miles in breadth and four in length & ranges from N.W [North West] to S E [South East] - the acreage is - The general aspect & outline of the parish is hilly, tho' [though] none of the hills are of any great elevation; the highest probably not exceeding 700 or 800 feet above the level of the sea. The lower hills are cultivated; and the higher, which are a portion of the Cheviot range, are clothed with a rich green sward to their summits, affording excellent pasture to many thousands of Sheep.
