Roman Mile Stone [Note] Considered by many in the locality to be a Standing Stone. This character in the absence of all indications of a Roman Road and the apparent uncertainty of its existence - may more readily be assigned from the Stones proximity to a large Tumulus. It may be surmised that it commemorates an engagement between the Picts and Saxons. M.L. See Page 2
