ROXBURGH Roxburgh (Parish) Continued [continued from page 2] There is adjoining to Village of Roxburgh, and near the river, the ruin of a Fort or Tower, it is denominated Roxburgh Tower, Wallace Tower, and also "Sunlaw's Tower" nothing remains of thus tower but the ground apartments, strongly arched over, and used, in all probability, as places of security for Cattle. The parish church is situated in the Village of Roxburgh, and
its situation is nearly Centrical, but not very Convenient for a Considerable part of the population. The distance from the Western extremity of the parish is 5 Miles & to the Eastern 2. The Church was built in the year 1752, was repaired in 1828, and is in a good State at present. It affords accommodation for about 500 Sitters. The Manse was built in 1820.[continued on page 4]
