Kelso		 009.08 An ancient Elm, Known by the name of the "Trysting Tree" Stood a Short time ago near to the boundary between Kelso & Roxburgh, & Close to the spot where the river used to be fordable, before the erection of Teviot Bridge. Beautiful Specimens of Furniture made from its timber may be seen at Floors Castle, especially in a Magnificent Cabinet of British Birds.
