009.04; 009.08; 009.12 A beautiful river of Roxburghshire, the largest tributary of the Tweed - It rises in several short head waters in the southern extremity of the parishes of Cavers & HawicK. and flows generally in a South east directions & unites with the Tweed opposite the town of Kelso.
The scenery of the Teviot is every where pleasant, generally brilliant & occasionally superb - Its immediate banks are, for the most part, a charming alteration of rich haugh and variegated, often abrupt, rising ground - A profusion of wood, & rapid alternations of almost every Kind of Surface, produce & Constant Succession of distinct & fine pictures
