009.04 This stone has been erected by the Duke of Roxburgh in the large Park towards the South of Floors Castle, to mark the height of the flood, in the year 1831, when both Rivers, the Tweed and Tiviot rose to such a height that the joined Each other at the "Trysting Tree". The stone is about twelve inches above the ground and bears the following inscription: Height of flood. 2 p.m. 9th. Febr: [February] 1831.
