009.04 | A good stone building of recent erection near the west end of Inch Road or Love Lane. The Revd. Dr. [Reverend Doctor] Bonar officiates in accordance with the views of the Free Church Party. All the subscribers towards erecting the church (except 5) seceded in 1843 and as a matter of equity the church belongs to them they having built it, but the old church party claim it on a presumed point of law. They have not enforced their claim, and it is understood that there will be no interference whatever during the life of Mr. Bonar the original minister. It is commonly called Bonar's church. Seats for 800. A school for Poor children under the church. |
