This is the remains of a rather large Camp Supposed to have been Roman It is probable that the name "Whitchester" (the name of the Estate wherein it is situated) has been derived from this Camp, Chester, being a name often given to places where Roman Stations existed, and if so, it is strong evidence in favour of its having been a Roman Camp. |
