007.03 An old Ruin, inside of the grounds Attached to "Gala House", And on the west Side of "Elm Row", there is only, the west end, And portions of the north And South Sidewalls Standing, And would appear to have been built in the form of one of the old "Border Peels", high And narrow, And the walls of Considerable thickness. The Town Clock was originally kept here, And the place which it occupied is still boxed off, This was the "Goal" for the "Barony" of Galashiels - but has not been used as such for a great number of years
