003.14; 003.15 A small stream rising from a Spring to the North of the farm of Mossilee, which, after a run of nearly a mile in an easterly direction, falls into the Mill lead at the West end of Roxburgh St.
The name is derived from the practice of Steeping Lint in the burn, at a former period , but long since discontinued, and superceeded by the manufacture of Woollens.
