045.11 [Situation] Nearly 1/4 mile S. E. [South East] of Hillhouse
This name applies to a large spring well on the farm of Tweedenhead; it does not posses the quality of petrification, but its water flows into Tweeden Burn over a large rock of petrified moss, formed by lime water that oozes out of the ground where the rock is formed & Not by the water of the well.
