This name applies to the remains of a tower, situated on the left Side of the Liddal Water on the farm of Mangerton. The walls now standing are about nine feet high and of considerable thickness, it is the only tower in Liddesdale that is not entirely erased, it was in the possession of Lord Mangerton (an Armstrong) during the time of the border rievers but now the property of his Grace the Duke of Buccleuch
