These islands belong to the Ph [parish] of Applecross and are the property of the Right Hon Lord Middleton and as they have all distinct names they will be found described in their respective order in name sheets
EILEAN MOR Eilean Mor Rev K. Macdonald Mr Alexander Gordon 116 This name signifying the "Larger Island" is applied to the larger of three islands forming the group of which mention is made above. this island is inhabited the dwellings being situated on the N.E side there dis a fresh water lake on the island called Loch nan Leac a small stream flowing out of it to the small Bay on the East side where the inhabitants enter and leave the island and from which a Foot-path leads to the houses . there is also a good extent of arable ground, and fuel is cut on various parts of the Island their places being too small however to show on Ordnance Survey Plans. the dwellings are one story high thatched and in fair repair on the property of the Right Hon Lord Middleton
