030; 043 "The Jokhen Muddins" or Shell Middins in the Vicinity of Castle Corbet are the oldest in the district and point to a very primitive race. They are composed entirely of the remains of littoral shell-fish and although they have been minutely examined, no trace of either deep Sea fish or animals of the chase are to be found. and that these were beyond the reach of the tribe is further confirmed by the want of any trace of tools except rude Knife like forms of Quartz which has been found in abundance. It further Seems that the tribe was Migratory and moved towards the North East entering the parish on the land ward Side for at Castle Haven these Muddins were found in abundance but are now nearly all cleared away when reclaiming the land.
