090 This well is situated about 266 yards West of the Cross of Fortrose & 384 yds [yards] S.W [South West] of Platcock House. At present the inhabitants of Fortrose are partly supplyed with water from it which is of excellent quality. Other springs have been drained & are now contributing to the Well for the use of the inhabitants of Fortrose. This well appears to be well known & was named so to perpetuate an Apostle of that name.
