077 This is an Ancield building, it is situated at the west end of the parish It is built on a small precipice on the Shore of the Cromarty Frith, about a mile west of Cullicudden. It was originally surrounded by a stone wall the fragments of which now only remain to the north and west of it.

077 This is the Old Church of Cullicudden erected in 1609. The east gable end is still standing. It is surrounded by a burying ground which is still used.
"The parish Church, dedicated to St. Martin of Tours, was originally at the place of St. Martins' but the Church being afterwards removed to the more centrical place of Cullicudden, the parish from this circumstance came to be so called. The union of the parishes of Kirkmichael and Cullicudden must have taken place subsequent to the establishment of Presbyterianism in Scotland in 1688" Copied from New Statistical Account page 38.
