Being in doubt
regarding the history of
the former Church of the
ancient parish of Kirk-
michael in Rossshire
and having been referred
to you as one likely to
give me the information
respecting it which I
require - I shall feel
very much obliged if you
will inform me if the
present ruin (part of
which now forms the burying
place

Dear Sir,
In reply to your
favour of the 10th current,
I have only to say, that
I have often heard my
Father, the late Minister
of Resolis, speak of the
old Church of Kirk-
michael, and he always
spoke of it, as the
ruin of the old
Roman Catholic
Chapel, which was
dedicated to St. Michael.
This seems to have been
the popular belief.
