078 In the moor, amongst some scattered fir trees, about half a mile south of the house, there are numerous stone cairn supposed to be erected over the slain in one of the battles which so often occured betwixt the clans, Some time ago, when making the county road near them some were opened to get the stones for mettle, but nothing but old clay pipes were found under the stones, no information could be obtained about who the contending parties in the conflict were, and the name of the battle is not known by any name
