as you will See by his remark
on Your Memo. and his
reply to my half margin
hereon annexed.
On maKing enquiries
with respect to the changing
of the Ph [Parish] name to Knockbain
it took place in 1756 when
the Parishes of Kilmuir Wester &
Suddie were united. The church
was built on a peice of ground
named Knockbain and So the
Ph [Parish] name became changed. I
have made many enquiries and
from the information gained I
believe the Proper name of the
Ph [Parish] is Kilmuir Wester and
Suddie, locally termed
Knockbain as an easier name
to term it by, in Correspondence
or Conversation.
