098 This name applies to a ruin situate a short distance from "Mains of Fairburn" and is the remains of one of those semi-fortified mansions which the wealthier class of olden times, thought necessary for their safety, especially in the Highlands of Scotland. The ruins are small in area but are above 60 feet in height and contained formerly several stories. no local information can be got as to date of erection. The ruin stands on the property of K S. MacKenzie Esqr of Brahan Castle
