090 The parish Church of Avoch, built by the Heritors in 1870, seated for 400. It is a graceful structure in the pointed Gothic style, with open roof and a spire about 100 feet high. The windows are of stained Glass. The large west one being a four light traceried window. The subject treated being the Sermon on the Mount, presented by the Patron of the Parish, James Fletcher Esqr. of Rosehaugh; In the East Gable there are two lancet windows, one on either side of the pulpit representing the nativity and the entombment, and a Rose window above representing the Ascension of our Saviour this latter being the gift of Sir John Kirkland of Avoch.
