065 | A low wooded ridge west of Clashnabuiac. According to tradition a man murdered his wife by strangling her in his dwelling near this place. He was immediately apprehended and hanged on the tree near the east end of the ridge, and his hand was cut off and fastened to the tree. His body was buried in a field to the north. English meaning "Knoll of the Palm". Property of the Trustees of the late Col. [Colonel] Ferguson. |
