The land is the property of Eneas McLeod Esqr. Cadboll, and to him are payable the feu-duties of the various small properties. "There are three villages in the parish the largest of which - Invergordon, contains 1000 inhabitants. It is equidistant from the burgh of Tain and Dingwall" Extract from New Statistical Account 1838.
