In the southern side of the plan 70 chains N. [North] of Aird Uige village. A prominant point, or headland which projects into the sea or Atlantic Ocean, on the north western coast of the Island of Lewis.The highest or most elevated part of it is near the northern extremity, on which is a Trig Station, It commands a most extensive view of the Atlantic Ocean, and interior of the Island, the Butt of Lewis, Flannan Islands, andScarp can be seen with the naked eye on a clear day, also the whole line of shore from the Butt of Lewis, to this point can be traced, which is a distance of about 35 miles, the cliffs around it are bold andprecipitous, It is inaccessable except at it's northern point and western side.
