006 [Situation] On the north eastern margin of the plan, 210 chains E.N.E. [East North East] of Blar nam Faoleag.
The largest fresh water loch north of the Stornoway and Barvas road. It is very deept, although it receives but a scanty supply of water by streams. It is said to abound in black trout, of a considerable size. A considerable portion of its water is drawn off by a drain into Amhuinn Dhail, for the purpose of working the Dhail Corn Mill.
