005 | This is a large and populous village about a mile and a half long by one wide on both Sides of the road from Stornoway to Ness and 20 miles from the former it includes two villages viz Gabhsunn O Thuath and Gabhsunn O Dheas the later is now no longer a village it containing only one farm house to which are attached all the land, the other is large Containing a great number of houses some of which were lately built and are rather an improved place there has been a large portion of land reclaimed which is attached to them they fish a little in the Summer time. |
