003 A large village of huts through which the road from Stornoway to Ness passes. They are built of stone and Earth and thatched with Straw, and present both inside and outside the same uncomfortable appearance as the other huts of Lewis. This village, Suainabost, and Cross, form, almost, the Continued line of houses. There is a large tract of good arable and some indifferent moor land attached to it.
