003 This is a Small Village on the north Side of road from Stornoway to the Port of Ness and about 1/2 mile from the latter place the houses are as usual built of peat moss and Stone Thatched with Straw and Header, the people of it derive their Chief Support from the produce of the land which is considered in this Island very good.

003 This name applies only to one house with two Small out offices on the road Side east of the Village of Lionol the dwelling house is built of Stone and thatched the Stable and cow houses are built of peatmoss and Thatched before the house was built here the place was called this name now it is applied only to the house & Situated on the north Side of the road about 25 chains west of Port of Ness.

003 This is a fresh water Loch about 47 chains long by 12 chains wide it is Shallow and receives a few Small nameless Streams and out of the east end flows a Stream into Ness Port. it is Situated in a Small hollow nearly midways between the villages of Lionol and Cnoc Ard.
