003 | This is a low nearly level beach between high and low water mark composed of sand and Shelving rocks it extends from Port Chealagbhall to Buaila Muigh the Bay adjacent affords anchorage to small vessels whenever the wind is from the land not otherwise, the probable hight of tide is about 12 feet it is the only Sandy beach between the Butt of Lewis and Ihaylasaid and in which a vessel will have any chance of anchorage Situated about 2 miles from the Butt and 27 miles from Stornoway by Barvas. |
