002 [Situation] In the south western section of the plan, 50 chains N.E. [North East] by N. [North] of North galson village.
A small mossy hill on the summit of which is a Trigl. [Trigonometrical] Station. It is bounded on the Eastern side by a fence.

002 [Situation] In the south western section of the plan, 70 chains N.E. [North East] by N. [North] of North Galson village.
A small fresh water loch, which appears to cover, at present, not more than half the space it did formerly. It contains two small islands, on the largest of which is the ruin of one of those old circular shaped Castles so frequently met with in the Lewis. It appears to have been built of small unhewn stones. No portion of the wall can be traced, but the site is covered by the stones alluded to. It appears to have been about 50 feet in diameter.
