012.02 The Supposed Site of a Roman Catholic Chapel, which was, it is Said, in Connection with the Old Abby of Paisley, and was dedicated to a French Saint names "Roque" and was consequently called "St Roque's Chapel" it was pulled down in the beginning of the Seventeenth Century by Order of the Magistrates and Town Council. There is no Vestige of it on the ground at the present time, but the Supposed Site has been pointed out by Mr David Semple, Writer, Paisley, who was enabled to do So from traditional information, as Well as from the Circumstance of human bones having been found around and Contiguous to this Spot, on Several Occasions by different Parties whilst making Alterations and improvements, And which Would infer that a Grave yard was Attached to the Said Chapel,_ This Chapel formed a part of the Endowment Originally given to the Grammar School of Paisley,____
