016.10 | This name applies to a long & extensive range of hills on the Western side of the parish. Corkindale Law is its most conspicuous eminence. It terminates, & the Fereneze range commences, (a very perceptible valley dividing the two) nearly opposite to Neilston village - These hills are well Cultivated, many farm houses dotting their Summit : their Southern declivities are known as the "Side Braes" Fereneze " and Loch Libo Side Hills, forming one ridge from 400 to 900 feet high" - Full Gaz [Fullartons Gazetteer]. Loch Libo will have given the name to the hills. They run along the Side of the loch. |
