Several proprietors in the Parish Claim a right of pasturage for a certain number of Sheep on this moor and also for cutting peat. In "Crawfurds History" of Renfrew it mentions that every proprietor claims of this Moor whatever breadth of Said Moor joins with his other lands as far as the Water runs to the Middle Centre of Said Moor towards their other forementioned possessions".— Robert Lang of "Gateside" and Neil Macmillan of Muirhouse, two of the Claimants with several others state, that this Moor has never been divided so as to shew the extent, by a boundary line, belonging to each individual Claimant.
