005.03 A little village pleasantly situated on the Firth of Clyde about 6 miles South west from Greenock. It takes the name from Kip Water which is here joined by Daff Burn and falls into the Firth. A considerable number of inhabitants are employed as labourers on the Estate of Ardgowan, and as Fisherman and Tradesmen.
In the village there are an Established Church & School a Free Church & School and an Independent Chapel (disused)
