001.15 A conspicuous ledge of grey rock, near the south west end of Idzholm Hill, they received this name from the fine echo occasioned by the ringing of the Bell of the old Ph. [Parish] Church, Mr. Brown told me that the echo was so distinct that, for a person standing mid way between the Rocks and the Church, it was difficult to say at which the Bell was placed.
