Hawkhead entry: "Hawkhead, situated between Blackhall and Crookston, came into the possession of the family of Ross in the latter end of the 14th Century." "This house in 1700 was an irregular site built in the form of a court and consisting of a large old tower, with some lower buildings added in the reign of Charles I," Orig. Par. Scotiae [Origines Parochiales Scotiae]. The Earl of Glasgow states that the building in its present state, dates from 1700. N.H.
