[Page] 37County of Perth, -- Parish of Monzievaird and Strowan
"Along the north east boundary
of the parish, flows the rapid stream of the Barvic,
dividing Monzie and Monzievaird, and falling, after
a headlong course of four miles, into the Turret. Immediately before its junction with the
Turret, the Barvic runs through a very rugged and romantic ravine, where it forms a series
of beautiful cascades, and falls 500 or 600 feet in the distance of an eighth of a mile."
