107 A square building on the N.W. [North West] side of the Chapel of Innerpeffray, the ground floor is occupied as a dwelling house and the upper flat contains the library, bequeathed by David - Lord Madertie in 1691 for the use of Students in the district who had been admitted members of a University, it consists of about 2800 Volumes, chiefly theological, classical, & historical writings, of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, and a number of black letter Volumes. Since 1844 it has been open to the reading population of the district.
It is on the Est. [Estate] of Capt. [Captain] Drummond of Cromlix
